Presenting the Press Team of 2022

Updated: May 4

With COVID-19 regulations being lifted the OLMUN is scheduled to be held in person next week, unlike the previous years. Nevertheless, some changes regarding the work of the Press Team have been made. This year, articles and daily news will again be posted on the OLMUN blog, which was established in 2020. Even though the OLMUN can take place under almost pre-COVID conditions it is still convenient for both the readers and the Press Team to continue using the blog. Therefore we are able to be more sustainable and available to more readers.

However, there will also be a shortened version of our newspaper “Daily Diplomat” where delegates are provided with a time schedule for the day, announcements if applicable, entertainment, pictures and small activities for break times.

In 2022 the Press Team consists of five journalists, Emma Ferguson and Julia Weingärtner, both attending grade eight, Laura Blümel and Lisa de Matos Herzog from grade 9 and Vanessa Haye who is in 12th grade. The team is led by this year's Chief of Press, Amelie Vocke who is attending grade 12 at the Cäcilienschule Oldenburg. She is 18 years old and first participated in the OLMUN in 2019 as an Administrative Staff. This is her third year as a member of the Inner Circle. Nina Hempel, also 18 years old and a member of the Inner Circle, is in grade 12 at the Altes Gymnasium Oldenburg. She is assisting Amelie with her responsibilities and tasks as Chief of Press.

Both of them are passionate about language and journalism and motivated to offer engaging content suitable for the OLMUN and our readership.

Through our articles, we plan on providing our readers with an insight into the committees as well as what is going on behind the scenes of this year's conference. Moreover, we are going to interview Delegates, Chairs and other participants. If you would like to know more about one of the attendees or certain topics, we are happy to receive recommendations or suggestions.

With best regards,

The Press Team
