Have you ever asked yourself how photographers work at the OLMUN? These creative minds are constantly on the move and capture the event's most memorable moments. Therefore, we asked Ole, who was at the UNHRC, some interesting questions. Firstly, his main motivation to join the OLMUN as a photographer was to participate behind the scenes. Furthermore, he described photography as his biggest passion, because he thinks that photos are a wonderful way to tell stories. Secondly, his main advice is to take photos at the head level. This technique creates engaging and dynamic photos, which give you the certain feeling to be in the moment. This allows you to experience the perspective of being in the discussion. Ole learned to practice this method while working at the OLMUN. A camera, the badge and a phone to edit the pictures are important to carry along for every photographer. Most of the pictures are truly edited not by the photographers but by the chief of the photography, Niels-Oliver Harfst. He is responsible for the last steps before the pictures are published in the Daily Diplomat. However, the photographers became acquainted with new editing programs for example Lightroom.
In conclusion, the photographers are very important for the OLMUN because they are the ones who give the insights of the conferences and of all the other highlights of OLMUN. Without them, many unforgettable moments would simply go unseen.
