The OLMUN 2020 had to be cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic and the OLMUN 2021 is still affected by the ongoing global crisis. To fulfill COVID19 regulations a lot of changes must be made by the students responsible for organizing the OLMUN 2021. Consequently, the typical process of planning and tasks of the team behind the OLMUN are different this year. Also, the progress of the conference must be adjusted for the delegates participating in this year’s conference.
Gladly we can say that the Press Team of the OLMUN 2021 can still work much like we used to in the past. Since the conference couldn’t take place last year, we weren’t able to pursue our task of producing our daily newspaper "Daily Diplomat” for the Delegates. With the purpose of still offering updates of the OLMUN to our readers, we started to revolutionize the release of our news and created the "Digital Daily Diplomat”. Not only was the "Daily Diplomat - pandemic edition” a temporary substitute for our printed version but the beginning of the OLMUN blog, which will provide information about the organization of the OLMUN and the debates of the committees online. Regarding the positive environmental effects as well as the availability online for readers from everywhere we will continue publishing the work of our Journalists on the blog.
The Press Team of the OLMUN 2021 is led by Chief of Press Sarah Frohmüller. She is 18 years old and a senior at Altes Gymnasium Oldenburg. 2021 will be her 4th year participating at the OLMUN. Besides being a member of the Inner Circle for 4 years now she has also participated as a delegate. Working alongside Sarah Frohmüller to help with writing articles are 3 journalists: Henrike Lichtenberg, 18 years old and a senior at Altes Gymnasium Oldenburg, Hannah Malter, 17 years old and in 11th grade at Altes Gymnasium Oldenburg, and Ella Freels, 15 years old and in 9th grade at the Gymnasium Cäcilienschule Oldenburg.
We, as the Press Team want to offer our readers a view inside the conference, for instance an impression of the organization prior to the conference and of course detailed reports of the work of the committees.
